Racking up hundreds of thousands of miles from the Antarctic to the Arctic, this outstanding 228' explorer yacht promises adventure and luxury in equal measure. With a spa, 18-person Jacuzzi, Michelin-trained chef, and a staggering double-height salon, 26-guest SHERAKHAN is a chartering powerhouse.
Part of SHERAKHAN’s enormous charm as a St Barts charter yacht is her rich history. Launched by Vuyk in 1965 as a navy training vessel, she was converted into an explorer superyacht in 2005, and re-imagined in 2018 with a spectacular interior refit by Rijntjes Interior Design. She is one of the few high-capacity superyachts that can accommodate large charter groups, and sleeps up to 26 guests in 13 palatial staterooms. SHERAKHAN carries a wealth of toys including a waterslide and sailboat, and runs with a superstar crew including a qualified beautician, masseuse, and a chef who previously worked as the Royal Chef for the King and Queen of the Netherlands. Whether cruising the cays of the Caribbean or the remote isles of Indonesia, chartering SHERAKHAN feels like embarking upon one of life’s great adventures.
Classic motor yacht lines
With her elegant canoe stern and classic lines, SHERAKHAN is a true gentleman’s yacht of yesteryear. The wide promenade decks and varnished porthole doors give the sense of a grand ocean liner – a sense only magnified by the foredeck area, where elegant sun loungers face out to the glittering sea. As befitting a yacht that travels to places far from civilization, there are plenty of options for dining and relaxing in small or large groups, with comfortable lounges and tables set up over three decks. Up on the sundeck, a huge 18-person Jacuzzi sits under a shade awning, with a bar ready to serve up cocktails.
A Showstopping interior
Walking into SHERAKHAN’s double-height main salon, your eyes are instantly drawn upwards, to the towering 23' atrium and the glass-bottom pool far above. A 26-seat dining table runs under a spectacular hanging light, a white grand piano is ready to be played, and two glass spiral staircases twirl gracefully up to the gallery level, where a bar sits waiting for guests. It is a grand space– one that puts you in mind of long ocean voyages and ballrooms– but brought bang up to date with an all-white colour scheme and space-age white dining chairs.
SHERAKHAN 26 guests are splendidly accommodated over 13 very generous ensuite staterooms. The master suite is a supremely light Upper deck stateroom with gorgeous art-deco curves and a private office. The remaining staterooms are located on the Main and Lower decks, and are fitted out in a luxurious cream and wood decor. The yacht has a wood-panelled library for cosy evenings with a good book and a nightcap, while an Asian-inspired health spa is located on the Lower deck for all your pampering needs, complete with a large Jacuzzi, gym equipment, and a massage and beauty salon.
