Featuring design by RWD, World Superyacht Award Winner AQUILA is built for glamorous entertaining. With a party deck, beach club, cinema, elevator, and private Owner’s deck, to charter the 280' superyacht AQUILA is to step aboard the St Barth’s most exclusive member’s club.
The largest yacht built in the US since the 1930’s and the largest refit project ever attempted in the United Kingdom: St Barts charter yacht AQUILA is undeniably a record-setter. Launched from Derektor in 2010 as CAKEWALK, AQUILA was reborn in 2016, emerging almost unrecognizable thanks to an award-winning redesign by Pendennis Shipyard, RWD, and Susan Young. Accommodating up to 12 guests in six deck-level staterooms plus an additional cabin for private staff, AQUILA runs with 28 crew.
Designed for alfresco living
AQUILA’s palatial deck spaces are a triumph of stylish simplicity, with clean, contemporary lines and a natural palette of warm timber and crisp whites which perfectly complements the surrounding sea and sky. Crowning the yacht is the sundeck, with its glass-edged Jacuzzi, alfresco cinema, and massage treatment room. This is the place to party under the stars, with a DJ booth, AV system, smoke machine and light show, as well as a fantastic bar and lounge area. Down at water level, AQUILA’s beach club has an airy, spa-like feel, and adjoins a well-equipped gym which is drenched in light via a skylight.
An interior of moody splendor
The interior of AQUILA is a triumph of contemporary opulence, with dark tones and velvet textures, richly veined marble and icy cool silvers creating a dramatic, elegant atmosphere. The yacht’s centerpiece is a staggering 30-foot tall crystal waterfall chandelier which cascades over four levels through the central lobby, while the huge main deck cinema has a palpable sense of Hollywood glamour with its velvet walls, plush recliners, and massive 98-inch screen.
The Owner’s deck is a haven of sophisticated tranquillity, with vast panoramic windows and private access to a 60sqm Portuguese deck. Also located on this level is a second massage room, hair salon, and study, as well as the Owner’s salon with its stunning ‘London Bar’ and comfy navy blue lounges. The remaining 5 guest staterooms are located on the main deck, and are decorated in an elegant wood and cream décor that blends yachting tradition with contemporary tastes. There’s also an additional cabin which can be used for private staff.
Tenders & toys
AQUILA’s fleet of five tenders is housed in AQUILA’s vast tender garage, and includes a Limited Edition AquaRiva Centos, an Intrepid Custom 350 open, and a Vikal Custom Limousine. AQUILA carries a fabulous array of water toys, including jet skis, Jetsurfs, e-foil and Seabobs, as well as a wealth of inflatable toys including a floating trampoline, Aquapark, anti-jellyfish ocean pool, and most spectacularly, a Zorb – a giant transparent inflatable ball that you can walk across the ocean in. What’s more, you can record the fun on the water from above with the yacht’s drone.
